Xavier becerra for governor:

volunteer guide

Thank you for volunteering for Xavier Becerra for Governor! We’re so grateful for your support.

our campaign’s path to victory

We need to make sure that every voter across California knows that there is a critical primary election on June 2, 2026, and that Xavier Becerra is the best choice to serve as our next governor.

That’s where YOU come in. We need you to talk to every single person you know between now and the primary, persuade them to vote for Xavier Becerra, and turn in their ballots (or vote in-person!) as early as possible.

This is called relational organizing – and it’s how we win, both on June 2 and in November.

relational organizing guide

  • Relational organizing is simple: it just means that people talking to people they already know is more effective than strangers talking to strangers.

You – yes, you! – are the best person to get your friends and family to vote, and to get them to vote for Xavier Becerra.

  • A conversation between people who know each other is at least 2.5 times more effective than strangers talking to strangers.

In fact, every time you talk to someone you know about Xavier Becerra, that’s the equivalent of our campaign knocking on 10 doors.

  • Our goal is to reach 500,000 California voters before the June 2 primary. That means that every Xavier Becerra supporter needs to talk to at least 50 people they know – friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, social media followers, everyone! – before June 2.

  • Think about who you know in California:

    • Who are your friends and your family members?

    • Who are your neighbors?

    • Who are your coworkers?

    • Who are the last 20 people you texted or called?

    • Are you part of any sports teams, clubs, parent organizations, or alumni networks?

    • Who do you talk about politics with?

    • Who just moved and might need to update their address?

    • Who do you think doesn’t know there’s an important primary election coming up?

    • Post on your social media about Xavier Becerra or the election, see who likes or comments on your post, and reach out to them!

You can map your friends and family in Rally, our relational platform. Rally will help you make sure your friends and family are registered to vote in California.

Rally is also how we can track when our friends and family members return their ballots. Just click here, sign in, and start adding people you know!

  • Once you’ve started your list of 50 people you know, think about how to talk to them about the election.

In Rally, for each person you know, you’ll get asked “Will they vote for Xavier Becerra for Governor in the June 2 primary election?” The answer to that question will help guide your conversation with them. Don’t worry if you aren’t sure – you can always go back and change the answer later.

If they are already supporting Xavier Becerra, ask them to fill out their ballot and return it as soon as possible – and then ask them to map their networks and talk to their friends and family. (Send them the link to Rally!)

If they aren’t supporting Xavier Becerra yet, tell them why you’re voting for him. Talk to them about the stakes of this election (more on that in our resource guide!). Ask them what matters to them, and explain to them why this election matters to you. Your friends and family will be more likely to listen to you because they know you and they trust you – and they will care about the things you care about.

As you talk to your friends and family about Xavier Becerra and this election, remember: YOU are the best messenger. Talk to your people in the way that’s most normal for you; don’t feel like you have to repeat talking points. Relational works because it’s real!

Our goal is to reach 500,000 California voters before the June 2 primary. To do that, we need YOU to talk to at least 50 people you know.

When you use Rally (our relational platform), it helps us reach our goal. And when you invite your friends to an event, we can help them map their networks too!
